SAKOON KORE TC 1 DRUG TREATMENT AND REHABILITION CENTRE FOR ADULT AND WOMEN

Overall Goal:

          The overall goal of the centre is to services for drug abuse prevention, treatment and rehabilitation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

 

Background:

            Drug addiction treatment services are operational since 1993, which include residential and community-based services. Clients in treatment are provided detoxification, behavioural change counselling, family and social interventions, religious and spiritual groups, relapse prevention skills, vocational skills development and aftercare services.

 

Currently with a total capacity of 450-beds five residential treatment centres are operational, which are:

 

Sakoon Kore 1 (50 beds capacity):  

                                 In DOST Complex Hayatabad:  for men and women  drug addicts.

 

Sakoon Kore 2 (200 beds capacity): 

                                 In DOST Community Complex  Shahi Bala: for adult men drug addicts.

 

Sakoon Kore 3 (50 beds capacity):

                                In DOST Complex Hayatabad: for children drug  addicts.

 

Sakoon Kore  4  (80 beds capacity):

                                For prisoners in the narcotics barracks of Peshawar  Central Prison.

 

Sakoon Kore 5 (70 beds capacity):

                                For prisoners in the narcotics barracks of Haripur  Central Prison.
